Getting to Glacier National Park

Road
Main routes in are from the east or west via US 2, from the east via US 89, and from the south via US 93. The primary route between Canada and America is Chief Mountain International Highway, which is closed to winter travel.

Air
Glacier Park International Airport is 25 miles west of West Glacier. Services include Big Sky Airlines, Delta Airlines, Horizon Airlines, Northwest Airlines and Holman Aviation (private charters). The airport at Great Falls is 197 miles east of West Glacier. Rental cars are available at both airports.

Buses and Shuttles to the Park
Glacier Park Inc. (GPI). Provides transportation to the Park from Kalispell and Great Falls via private cars for individuals and buses for groups. Phone: 406-226-9311; Off-season: 602-207-6000.

Rail
The daily Amtrak passenger service the Empire Builder, which runs between Seattle/Portland and Chicago, follows along the southern boundary of Glacier National Park. It stops at East Glacier (Glacier Park Station, summer only), West Glacier (Belton Station), Essex and Whitefish.
