Are you ready to buy a home? How do lenders decide to make loans?

Join me for this eight hour (over two evenings), comprehensive homeownership education courseto help you to better understand the home purchase process.

Topics covered include:

  • the advantages and disadvantages of homeownership
  • assessing your personal homeownership readiness
  • understanding credit and how to get ready to apply
  • managing your finances
  • the mortgage process
  • special programs available for first time buyers
  • shopping for a home, a lender, and a realtor
  • closing on your home
  • maintaining your home and your finances after you purchase

Completion of homeownership education makes you a smarter, better borrower, and may help you become eligible for down-payment assistance, low-interest mortgages, and matched savings programs.

The course is open to everyone and free of charge.

Space is limited, so pre-registration and a $25 refundable deposit are required. The deposit check will be returned to you at the end of class or you can choose to donate it. If you are not able to attend the class which you are registered for, you must give two days notice to reschedule or cancel, otherwise your deposit will not be refunded.
