Living in Sundance Springs
Sundance Springs is an established south Bozeman neighborhood of about 180 single-family homes, located tucked between Graf Street and Goldenstein Lane, south of Kagy Boulevard and south of Montana State University. Much of the neighborhood faces onto green space with trail connectors, and it borders Tuckerman Park and the Sourdough Trail along Bozeman Creek, which is part of the Main Street to the Mountains trail system.
The homes in this neighborhood were not built by the same builder and architect, so all of the streets have their own character, ranging from craftsman-inspired bungalow styles alongside traditional style two-story homes as well as modern farmhouse homes. Most lots are spacious and under an acre. The Sundance Springs Pond and open space around it give the neighborhood a park-like feel, yet it's just a quick trail walk or bike ride to Montana State University, the Museum of the Rockies and downtown Bozeman.
Trails, Parks and Open Space
- Sourdough Trail - a very popular gravel path weaving next to Bozeman Creek, it's about a 3.3-mile loop running from the Goldenstein Lane trailhead and heading north through Tuckerman Park over to East Graf Street, then back south through Sundance Springs and McLeod Park.
- Tuckerman Park - +/-10 acres along the creek between the Sourdough Trail and Sundance Springs, with parking off Goldenstein Lane.
- Sundance Springs Pond - a private neighborhood centerpiece surrounded by open space.
- Main Street to the Mountains - the Sourdough Trail links to the Gallagator Trail and Peets Hill for an off-road route all the way to downtown. For additional hiking and ice climbing, Hyalite Canyon is a short drive south of here.
